Progressive Office Furniture supplied the workplace furniture and workstation solutions for Wheels Media’s new 560m² Melbourne workplace, created to accommodate its journalists and administration staff following the company’s relocation.

Progressive worked closely with Wheels Media during the planning process, helping assess potential properties and develop a workplace solution suited to the organisation’s operational requirements. The furniture planning was integrated with the overall floor layout to maximise the available space and create an open, light-filled working environment.
The project included the supply and installation of 37 Ambience workstations, providing an efficient open-plan workstation environment for Wheels Media staff. The workstation configuration was designed to support day-to-day productivity while maintaining flexibility and encouraging communication and collaboration between employees.

The workplace furniture solution also incorporated collaborative areas to provide staff with alternative spaces for meetings, discussion and team interaction. This helped create a more flexible workplace environment while making efficient use of the 560m² floor area.
A specialist requirement was the provision of a dedicated area to support Wheels Media’s automotive journalism activities, including photography of vehicles being road tested. The workplace therefore needed to accommodate both conventional office functions and the specialist requirements of a media organisation.

Progressive also supplied a flexible storage solution for Wheels Media’s media and equipment requirements. The solution incorporated 600mm-deep storage racking together with a custom-printed retractable curtain, providing convenient access to equipment while allowing the storage area to be concealed when required. This created a practical and cost-effective alternative to fully enclosed storage.

The completed workplace furniture solution provides Wheels Media with a modern, flexible and functional working environment combining Ambience workstations, collaborative areas and specialist media storage. Progressive Office Furniture delivered the furniture planning, workstation systems, storage solutions, supply and installation required to support the company’s new Melbourne workplace.
